Responding to Spiritual Distress Cues

Read through this Case Study in Spiritual HealthPreview the document(retrieved from http://www.wales.nhs.uk/documents (ارتباطات إلى موقع خارجي.)).

Though it is still early in this course (and in your BSN program), your goal will be to brainstorm and practice ways that you, as the nurse, might respond to the patient’s spiritual distress cues.

As you read the case study, reflect on this patient’s risk profile for spiritual distress. Consider ways that the nurse might be able to address the patient’s spiritual needs, through your comments, your presence, the use of direct interventions or in collaboration with others. Then, practice responding to the patient statements shown within the case study: if a patient was to make those comments to you during a clinical training experience, what would you say in response?

Post a minimum of THREE responses you might make to the patient; these can be in response to any of his comments or three different responses that could be used for a specific individual comment. Feel free to add more than three, but, three responses is the minimum for your first post.
