1980 (with at least one hit single that made the Top-40 in the US within that same time-period). The Song
CANNOT be on that has been specifically mentioned in any detail in the textbook What’s That Sound? or in
class. The band or artist does not need to be one that’s been mentioned in class or in the textbook.
Write an essay between 200 and 250 words identifying what specific sub-genre of rock (e.g., progressive-rock,
country-rock, punk, or glam-rock) the song would fall under, and support your conclusion with evidence (not
just because it “sounds like it”, or because that particular artist was identified as such in the textbook or in class
or on Wikipedia).
