ROTAVIRUS Order Description 1- briefly describe one important disease the Rotavirus do? 2- How common is this disease and in what group of patients dose it mainly occur? 3- What specimen is or are required for diagnosis? 4- How is a diagnosis of acute infection confirmed by the laboratory? Is laboratory diagnosis usually necessary; explain why. For most of these viruses, there are conventional cell culture methods as well as rapid methods, including direction of viral products, DNA methods, serology. Which method would you choose and why? 5- Would the diagnosis be performed in a normal laboratory or would you have to send the specimen to a reference laboratory.
