Rough Layout and Activity Charts/Cycle Time Calculation These are two different tasks and below I will put the instructions of each task. Task 1: Based on the relationship and from-to charts, determine a rough layout that consists of departments and production areas in each department. Comment on the type of flow in each production area (i.e., flow line, cellular, job shop). Ignore material handling equipment and aisles at this point. Show the flow among departments in “unit load” with arrows. Task 2: Make an activity chart for each production area. Calculate the cycle time for each production area, and idle time, busy time, and utilization rate for each operator and machine during steady-state cycle.
