Science lesson
Write an Argumentative essay on a short reflection on a science lesson
Sample Solution
Science is a subject that has fascinated many people for centuries. Its application to everyday life and its ability to help us understand our world have made it one of the most popular subjects in school systems all over the globe. As such, science lessons are an important part of students’ education and can be
incredibly beneficial for their growth and exploration of scientific concepts. This essay will provide a short reflection on a recent science lesson, discussing how it was effective in providing students with meaningful learning experiences.
The lesson I recently attended was focused on exploring the different types of energy sources available today. The lesson began by introducing the concept of energy sources, from renewable resources like solar power and wind turbines to non-renewable ones like coal or oil. Through class discussion, students were able to get an overview of what each type entailed as well as their pros and cons compared to other energy sources. To explore this further, we then worked through some examples together where each student had to choose which energy source they believed would be best suited for particular scenarios based on criteria such as cost effectiveness or environmental impact. Ultimately, this exercise enabled us all to better understand these concepts while also getting us into the habit of problem solving with multiple factors in mind – something essential when engaging with more complex scientific topics later on down the line are required of them throughout their studies..
Continuing on from these topic considerations, we then moved onto look at some actual data relating to real-world usage rates for various energy sources around the world; using Excel spreadsheets which gave us visual representations about how much certain countries relied upon certain forms etc., so that we could see first hand why certain nations might favour opting for certain options over others regarding electricity production etc.. Additionally, this hands-on approach also allowed us all (including myself!)to better comprehend why global trends fluctuate due to varying governmental policies regarding electricity generation etc.. In fact further research done by me after this session revealed additional ways in which understanding how different nations approach generating electricity can even create new diplomatic ties between two countries who may not necessarily agree on other matters but still share common interests within energy production! Finally before ending our session ,we looked at some case studies related to carbon emissions reductions strategies implemented in specific places that have helped reduce pollution levels while simultaneously making sure citizens receive enough access too clean/affordable power - highlighting just how complicated managing differing forms of energies can actually be!.
In conclusion, my strong belief is that taking part in science lessons such as those described above can potentially equip learners with invaluable skills both academically & beyond! Not only do they gain knowledge concerning various aspects associated with science (such as comparing different kinds of energy), but they begin forming critical thinking skills by utilising evidence-based approaches when formulating conclusions . Furthermore ,they become exposed too real life applications thereof - illustrating just how useful & pertinent studying Science really is towards mankind's evolution...and ultimately future survival!
