Observe each of the children for at least 30 minutes using the observation form (in the appendix). Note language used, verbal interactions and overall physical and socio-emotional characteristics. Conference with the classroom teacher and find out details about the children’s overall performance and any other relevant developmental aspects about them (NAEYC 1a, 2a, 3b, 5c) 3. Based on your observations, and using the knowledge derived from your Child Development course, identify a developmental theory or theories to frame your observations and interactions with the children. (1a) 4. Write a brief commentary indicating the reasons for the selection of the two children and comments based on the preliminary observations and informational data collected about each child. Describe the reasons for the selection of the theory/theories that will serve as framework to work with the children.
