The 10 Commitments of Leadership are: Knowing Yourself; Developing Others; Building Teams; Understanding Your Organization’s Environment; Creating a Common Purpose; Fostering Open Communication; Dealing Effectively with Conflict and Change; Setting An Example for Those You Lead; Holding People Accountable for Results and Celebrating Successes. I believe that the most difficult practices to develop and apply would be “Enabling Others to Act” and “Creating a Common Purpose”. These two practices require strong leadership skills such as active listening, understanding different perspectives, collaboration, communication and trust building. Leaders need to enable others to take action based on their own abilities while also creating an environment in which everyone is working towards a common goal or purpose. This requires leaders to create an atmosphere of transparency where everyone feels safe contributing their ideas without fear of judgement or failure. It can also be challenging because it takes time to build relationships with team members that allow them to feel comfortable sharing their opinions or taking risks when they propose new ideas or solutions. The practice I believe has the most powerful impact on an organization is “Inspiring a Shared Vision” as this helps unite people around a common cause or outcome by providing direction and motivation throughout their work journey together. By helping individuals understand how their individual roles contribute towards accomplishing this vision it can help increase engagement levels across teams as well as fostering synergy among employees who are connected through shared goals. It allows all stakeholders (employees/teams) within an organization align themselves around similar objectives which in turn strengthens relationships between departments, increases cross-collaboration opportunities thus increasing productivity levels within the organization overall . Additionally, it provides clarity regarding expectations from management making employees more accountable for delivering results against defined targets set forth by leadership team members
