  Write a mini-essay between 1,0001,200 words and introduce a film adaptation based on a novel you choose. The adaptation must be between Sinophone and Western cultures (excluding those in the syllabus, Journey to the West, and The Last Emperor), i.e., a Western film based on a Chinese novel or vice versa. Discuss the adaptation, considering at least two theoretical sources in the course readings.
