You will be using Studs Terkel's Working, available on your Blackboard site. Please go to page 31 - 36 (marked XXXI) and read the Table of Contents (TOC). From the TOC, choose TWO items from Book ONE (Working the Land) through Book SIX (The Quiet Life). You are to read the documents, then write a three to fourpage discussion comparing and contrasting them. Provide a brief synopsis of the discussion then examine the stories through the lens of the sociologist. What does each story tell us about work? class? race? gender? relations between classes? social boundaries? prestige? etc.
