We recently just passed the 30th anniversary of 'Black Monday,' which was a crash of the stock market due to machine-driven trading. Subsequent to 'Black Monday,' there have been a few other events that have raised concerns about the rise of algorithmic-based trading. While technological advances are clearly a good thing, small blips can have catastrophic consequences for financial markets.
