Instructions:
You should have read Personality Traits (NOBA PDF 12) pp.1-11 and watched Lecture Slides 8.A and 8.C before completing this activity.
To complete this activity, answer the questions below. You can write your answers right into this document. You must save your answers as a Word or PDF document before submitting it. You should submit your response to the Activity 8.2 link (where you got these instructions). This activity is due by Sunday at 11:59pm EST. Be sure to check that you got an email confirmation of your submission and that you can open your submitted document in your Grade Center to be sure that you submitted it correctly.
Step 1. Choose a celebrity and/or public figure that you know well. You should be able to observe their behavior over time and across a number of situations (as portrayed in the news and/or media). You must choose someone different from the two celebrities discussed in the lecture (i.e., Beyoncé and Malala Yousafzai).
Name of your celebrity:
Step 2. For each of the five factors (i.e., openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism), rate this celebrity as “high,” “low,” or “middle.”
Rating of your celebrity on:
• Openness
• Conscientiousness
• Extraversion
• Agreeableness
• Neuroticism
Step 3. For each of the five factors, describe what behaviors and characteristics you noticed that made you rate this celebrity as high, low, or in the middle on each dimension. In other words, why would you rate this person as you did? Draw clear connections between the celebrity’s behavior and your rating on each of the five factors.
