From the material you have worked with for this session, you may encounter the issue of Black independent thought both as reaction to European thinking but also as the assertion of Black sensibility. For Video Journal 3 reflect upon three ways in which you see the authors dealing with the issue of integrating indigenous Black experiences, creativity, philosophy, among other things in their engagement with the Bible. In this regard, pay
attention to where the Bible falls in their work: is it the primary source or one primary source, does it make
exclusive claims or in dialogue with other claims, it is the most important arbiter or does it occupy a lower place. Remember to discuss the implications of your insights as a contemporary Bible reader. Also include
citations to the works that you are referencing in some form in your video journal.
