With reference to course lecture slides, audio-visual resources, and any relevant course readings, explain a) some of the driving forces behind the rise of the ‘corporate social responsibility’ (CSR) idea in the extractive industries; b) different forms that CSR efforts might take (i.e. different types or categories of CSR) c) some key aspects of the Canadian government’s position towards CSR in the extractive industries; and d) how, in your view, CSR interacts or influences particular forms of ‘global governance’ of the extractive industries.
