The modern retelling of myths

If you were to see a movie or read a book next year that had its roots in ancient myths, what are some signs
that you might notice, even if you did not know the work was based on a myth, and even if you had not read
the original myth? In other words, what are some common themes that seem to occur in modern retelling of
myths?
Come up with a list of several themes or elements that might make you suspect a work was based on a myth.
When you have your list, write about those themes or elements. Explain how you might know or suspect that a
modern work was based on a long ago myth.
