The origins of capitalist development

K. Marx, in Chapter 31 of Capital Vol. 1, discusses the origins of capitalist development and F. Engels in Chapter 3 of the Condition of the Working Class in England, discusses the state of workers in the great towns. Discuss what the main tenets of their arguments in these pieces are and what kind of a picture do they depict of capitalist development? Do you see any similarities with today, in either advanced or developing economies?
