The problem of evil
The problem of evil
Order Description
This is the only information that was provided by my professor: "The essay should be of a comparative nature: based on a selected topic you are supposed to compare the
style, voice, argumentation of minimum two thinkers, at least one of whom was not analyzed in class (we analyzed Thomas Aquinas & Pseudo-Dionysius). Primary readings
can be found in Schoedinger's Readings in Medieval Philosophy. The citation style may be of your choosing, only ensure it is consistent throughout."
You do not have to use readings from Schoedinger's textbook, she just recommended that because there is a wide variety of readings and it was the required book for the
class; any scholars in the medieval time period (500-1500ce) are considered valid. It is a 2nd year undergraduate philosophy course that is intended to provide an
overview of the 4 major time periods of thought. We only spent 1 week disucssing the nature/problem of evil so we did not get into very much detail. Outside of the few
details provided the topics were left purposely vague so as to allow students to write on whatever topic they desire. I will upload a copy of the first essay I wrote
in the course to give a better idea of the level of writing that is expected; I recieved 90% on the paper and the professor said it was one of the top few that was
written in the class.
