The Republic

      In Book 2 of The Republic, an argument is made over whether Justice is externally good (something you would do for its own sake and not because of the consequences) that leads into a discussion of the Ring of Gyges. What is the Ring of Gyges? What does the Ring allow you to do? What does it say about how people view Justice? Could you resist the abilities the Ring gives and be a moral person? Do you think other people would make the same choice?
