The risks in international logistics

The risks in international logistics in terms of time and inventories are not limited to weather conditions, hijacking, and theft. Changes in weather conditions from calm to extreme weather can create a delay in delivering the cargo or the possibility of the cargo being destroyed. For example, a shipment delivering a cargo of rice experiencing heavy rain and waves can have the possibility where the bags of rice will end up wet and moldy. Hijacking can happen due to unexpected encounters with sea pirates during shipment whereas theft can occur during stops at multiple distribution centers.
