The U.S. should abandon the War on Drugs

  The topic of the paper will be whether or not the U.S. should abandon the War on Drugs which started under Presidents Nixon and Reagan in the 1970's and 1980s. When you write the paper, please discuss the reasons, this war started, whether it has been an effective tool in reducing drug crime and trafficking in the U.S, ncluding why or why not, whether we should totally abolish, or merely change the program, and propose the changes to be made and why. Your discussion should include references to the current opioid and fentanyl epidemics and our efforts to address these problems.
