The following post has two assignments namely;
1.The Yellow Wallpaper
Describe how the narrator is portrayed in the beginning, middle, and end of the short story.
2.Outbreak Epidemiology
Outbreak investigations involve evaluating situations in context, with the goals of controlling the spread of disease within initially-affected populations and preventing the spread of the disease to other populations.
Laura M. works in the Irvine County Health Department. She receives a phone call from the director of a local day care center that a large and growing number of children are experiencing severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. This facility serves 125 children. The symptoms started to present themselves in the latter part of the morning, prior to lunch being served at the center.
1. What are some of the elements of the situation at the day care center that Laura should begin questioning the director of the facility about?
2. Why are those aspects of the situation relevant?
Laura knows that she will not be able to determine the nature and severity of the problem immediately, but the director of the day care center is looking for some assistance with determining whether to offer lunch to some or all of the children, as well as some guidance on how to deal with parents who call or visit the facility.
3. What type of protocol should Laura put together for the director to insure the safety of the children as well as alert parents of the current situation?
4. Would it be safe to serve lunch to these students at this time?
