    Theodore Tronchin was an important figure during the Enlightenment period, and his views provide us with a valuable insight into the intellectual movement. A Swiss philosopher, physician, and theologian, Tronchin was born in 1709 in Lausanne and is considered to be one of the most influential figures of the Age of Enlightenment.
