Within your answer you need to compare the two people chosen and their respective work. In your answer you will need to use examples of their art work to best demonstrate your ideas. No.3 Appropriation Q: Throughout history many artists have adopted, borrowed, recycled, sampled and stolen images, symbols, artefacts, objects and artwork to base their work on and to create new work from. Choose two artists and speak about their individual approaches to appropriation and the way it is used within the development and creation of their own art work and concepts. No.4 Participation Q: In contemporary culture artists have increasingly sought since the 1960s to create situations and events that invite the spectator to become active in the making and understanding of the artwork. Use 3 different artists to explain how this has been done. No.6 The Artists Joke Q: Choose 2 artists from the image list and write a detail analysis on how you think they use humour and jokes within their work. Also discuss how they do this similarly and differently to each other in regards to the artwork they produce. No.7 Everyday Q: Throughout history artists have engaged with the notion of the Everyday as the basis for the construction of their work. Artists have looked at ethnography, mass culture and the personal to create work which comments on ordinary life and such an engagement offers various forms of contemplation and possibilities of change within the finished work as well as thinking about the topic of the everyday. In your answer choose three artists and discuss how they have used the Everyday as a central material in the construction of their work and what it means to their work. No.8 Utopia and Beauty Q: For artists dealing with issues of Utopia and Beauty, aspirations of creating a better world or questioning what is considered beautiful play a central role in their practice. In your answer you need to choose 3 artists (2 must be from the image list the 3rd artist can be someone different that you find if you wish) and discuss how they each individually create work that deals with Utopia or Beauty (or both issues) in their work. No.9 Integrated Relationships and Reflex Activities Q: Choose 1 artist from the interview list and write an analysis about their art. In your answer you will need to speak about what type of work they do and what the artist is attempting to express through their work.
