Select two of the following allied health professions to compare (dental hygienists, diagnostic medical sonographers, dietitians, medical technologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, radiographers, respiratory therapists, and speech language pathologists) and take a deeper look into their specific functions and contributions to health care.
In a paper of 750-1,000 words, explain:
1. Each allied health profession’s formal training.
2. The types of settings in which each profession is traditionally found and how these are changing today.
3. The expanding roles of allied health in health care delivery and the effect on each profession.
4. One professional development opportunity that each selected profession could attend to enhance knowledge and technological expertise in health care.
5. Health care trends that have emerged due to the overall workforce shortage and the impact they have on health care delivery.
