Undertaking a meta-analysis

Discuss why one would undertake a meta-analysis and if one undertakes a meta-analysis, which model would one use and why? Use examples and address the relative weight of small and large studies in the different models and their implications. Meta-Analysis Pick a topic: High vs. low dose ACE inhibitors and all cause mortality: or The NOAC vs. Coumadin (warfarin) and mortality or a topic of your choice. Do a search of Pub Med and identify articles you plan on using. Abstract out the common metric: odds ratio or risk ratio for each study. Then close your model – state reason(s) why and put data into a meta-analysis program and produce a Forest Plot.
