Using Activity Based Approach to promote holistic and integrated learning

  In Singapore, several intervention approaches are integrated in the early intervention classroom to promote maximum learning for children with special needs. Working in groups of not more than 4 students, research either on any of the above approaches and deliver a 30 minute presentation on the following topics: • Using Activity Based Approach to promote holistic and integrated learning • Using structured teaching to develop classroom routine and good work habits • Using token economy to promote task compliance • Using social stories to teach awareness of the social environment In your presentation, you are expected to cover the following: 1. Definition and detailed explanation of the identified approach 2. The pros and cons of using the identified approach in the early intervention classroom 3. The impact of using of the identified approach on the overall development of the child 4. Video demonstration on the application of the identified approach in the early intervention classroom 5. Customised resource or activities developed using the idenfied approach to meet the learning needs of the child (ren) in the classroom 6. Detailed explanation on the utilisation of identified approach of address the learning needs of the children in the classroom.
