Using the example of apartheid explore a law, policy or cultural belief in the U.S. Today you think is unfair Order Description Using the example of AParthied,explore a law, policy, or cultural belief in the U.S. today that you think is unfair to a segment of the population. What change is necessary? Whose rights are being adversely affected? What will it take to change American's attitudes? What forces are impeding progress? Are there any current signs of change? STUCTURE: section 1: INtroduce the unfair law/policy/cultural belief in the U.S. Section 2: Describe Apartheid. Using sources and explain how/why it came into being, how the system functioned, and how it was ultimately brought down. Section 3: describe how an understanding of AParthied can help us see more clearly the unfair law/policy/cultural belief that you introduced in the first paragraph. Section 4: make an argument for the changes we need to make in the U.S. to end the unfair law/policy/cultural belief. You may draw from the lessons learned from those brought down AParthied, but also feel free to draw from other sources as well. In this section especially, describe any acts of disobedience that you think may be nesessary to effect the change.
