To what extent does a viewers expectation affect the quality of the overall film?
This is a research paper surrounding the topic of how viewers' expectations affect the overall quality of a film.
What inspired this idea was the movie "Jennifer's Body", which was despised when it first came out because of the fact that it didn't satisfy the male fantasy, which it was advertised to do so. However, over time, the people started to realize that it was made to represent a female fantasy instead. I would like film references, reliable sources, and quotes if possible.
