Discussion question
The module starts out asking “who is your favorite rock star.” That’s a simple question, but worth asking and worth explaining given your progress so far in discussing art. Answer the following questions:

  1. Who is your favorite rock star?
  2. Is this star worth being a “giant of the arts?” Explain why or why not. I know that some of my favorites are not “giants” but they are still enjoyable!
  3. In particular, is your favorite star “innovative?” Innovation is a key term for the module, so address this quality in particular.

Here is an example: Johnny Cash is a favorite rock star of mine (although many would not consider his style to be “rock”). He is a great performer, but he will not be remembered in 500 years, or probably even in 200. He is not a “giant of the arts.” His work is largely derivative of earlier artists, including country, blues, and rockabilly – he does not really innovate on his own. He is cool, his music makes me happy, he creates an image of an outlaw, a rebel, and supporter of the downtrodden…but his art is very simple, not highly original, and not highly innovative.

Linking park is my favorite rock star; this is because of their great sense of art that they have been able to demonstrate over the years. With the aspect of creativity in art, they have been able to make rock sound better and even more appealing. For instance, Linkin Park was not the first band to fuse metal and rap; however, they have been one of the most successful artists in the field (Mulder et al, 2010).
Linkin Park has proved not to be the giants of art. This aspect can be explained by the fact that they had a massive part in the music landscape. However, they have not been able to to maintain the hype. They still have a fan base for them in the world might be decreasing over the years. This is due to the minimal productions that have been made, and also they have failed to incorporate new artist after the loss of Chester making them less productive in the industry despite them having some of the fresh music that is appealing to the ears
Linkin Park has proved to have incorporated innovativeness in their music. The band impacted the art from the ’90s and the 2000s with the different culture that can be deemed odd to some extent, but their relevance still beats many through their new shifts in the music (Brabaon, 2011). The dawn of the internet era, which they have significantly adopted have facilitated them with significant innovations that have made the capture much youth all over the world through the creation of pure art and a change of music.

My favorite artist started his career as an entirely no threatening artist. No one anticipates this young new singer to conquer the world by a storm. His name was Richard Wayne Penniman, best known as Little Richard.
Little Richard is worth being a giant of the arts because Richard originally is unique; he always sees an exceptional side of every situation. One of Richard first hits was “Lucille” who created the rhythm by listening to the train every time it passes by his house shaking the entire home along with it. Another hit was “Tutti Frutti” taking the position 17 on the billboards. Richard also has other “hit like good golly miss molly,” “send me some love” among many others hit songs. And still today his music is enjoyable!
Particular little Richard is an innovative artist. Little Richard is a creative artist for many reasons; one of them is his remarkable dressing design is different an upbeat and cheerful. He also wanted his music to be more innovative. He wanted his music style to put people up their feet to dance and have a good time. Little Richard Also, influence artist like the Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Jerry Lee Lewis because little Richard is like no other singers of this time.

A band i have loved for as long as i can remember is foo fighters. In particular the Innovative way Dave Grohl left as a drummer of Nirvanna when they, split up due to unforseen circumstances we will say, and became the lead singer of this group. Are they Giants of the arts? I dont think we will talk about them like Michael Jackson or the temptations 20 years from now, but they have definitly left their footprint in the music field. Ive seen them live and let me tell you, they really enjoy their music and playing it for an audience.

My favorite rock star is a band that became popular in the 80s, and their popularity lasted for a decade or two, and the name of this band is Bon Jovi. This might not be the typical rock star quality band, but I grew up listening to this band and even though they don’t play much anymore and some of the original band members are not even in the band anymore, this group of talented musicians can still fill up a stadium.
This band will not be remembered as “giants of the arts”, but their music will stay alive for generations to come. Their song “Living on a prayer” still plays on a radio today, 33 years after it was released, which speaks volumes. This band was innovative when they first started to create their music, and their albums often ended on Billboard charts with millions of copies sold around the world. However, music changes, and so do people and their relationships, which is more than likely the reason why certain band members moved to solo careers and some don’t even create music anymore.
