Why is there low consensus amongst the American public (in comparison to consensus amongst scientists) to urgently tackle the causes of global warming?

Why is there low consensus amongst the American public (in comparison to consensus amongst scientists) to urgently tackle the causes of global warming? Why is there low consensus amongst the American public (in comparison to consensus amongst scientists) to urgently tackle the causes of global warming? The presentation should use data from a combination of peer-reviewed research, it should explain how the surveys were conducted (methods used), it should then analyse the relevant (which relate to the question asked) results of these surveys (also giving the methods used to analyse the data), publish the results in a graphical format, have a discussion section and a conclusion section. I have attached a presentation which asked a slightly different question, some of this presentation can be used. The presentation will have to last for 15 minutes and there will be a 5 minute question period after, so notes will be needed with the presentation, so I can answer the questions.
