Working on policy matters

I began working on policy matters after completing my undergraduate studies in political science. I was initially employed as a research assistant for an organization focused on improving healthcare outcomes through evidence-based decision making. While there I learned about different aspects of public health and health care delivery systems from across the country. During this time I developed my understanding of health-care related policies and their impacts on individuals' lives. It was evident to me that effective public policies could have far reaching implications not just for individuals but whole communities as well. As such I decided to pursue additional qualifications in order to further develop my knowledge base around public policies and its effects on society at large. Through various internships during my postgraduate studies I gained further insight into the process behind developing successful policies; ranging from identifying problems or opportunities within specific areas through gathering data points using surveys or focus groups up until introducing new legal frameworks or initiatives aimed at tackling identified issues encountered by stakeholders involved in those processes.. My experience has also allowed me to appreciate how complex this process can sometimes be; having worked alongside officials from different government departments as well as civil society organizations which all had their own perspectives based upon pre-conceived values shaped by previous experiences. With this appreciation comes an understanding that any proposed solution should take into account multiple perspectives while offering tangible measurable results at a reasonable cost both financially as well morally where applicable . Overall , being able to work on policy matters provides me with great satisfaction since it allows me to make use of what I have learned over many years while contributing towards effecting positive change within various aspects of our society today such as education , sustainable development , transportation etc . By working directly with people who are impacted by certain policies either directly or indirectly is extremely rewarding in itself because it gives you an opportunity not only understand them better but also offer solutions tailored specifically towards those circumstances so they can benefit from these changes even if it’s only small steps forward which take us closer towards creating equitable opportunities across all social strata's
