Applying Utilitarianism

Physician assisted death is when a doctor: (upon the request of the patient) knowingly and intentionally
provides the terminally ill patient (a patient who have been given 6 or less months to live) with the knowledge
or means required to cause their own death, including counseling about lethal doses of drugs, prescribing
such lethal doses or supplying the drugs, and in some cases helping administer them. Many states do not
allow physician assisted death for terminally ill patients. What would a utilitarian say about allowing
physician assisted death, and why?
