In the video lecture about “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber” the professor makes much of the word it at the end of the story. Margot, the wife, says “Stop it” numerous times—in fact it is the only reply she makes to Wilson, ending with: “Oh, please stop it. Please, please stop it.”
What is it that she wants Wilson to stop? Be as specific as possible in describing what she apparently fears or does not want to hear. Is this an effective way to end the story? Why?
