Excluding Probation

In this country, there are certain situations where someone convicted of murder or rape
will be sentencing to probation as opposed to prison. Do you think that murderers and
sexual offenders should be sentenced to probation? Why or why not? What factors
contribute to courts relying on probation for these types of offenders? Are there any
other offenses for which you would exclude probation as a sentencing option? Explain
your answer.
