You have a patient in the clinic or in the hospital or where ever you work come up to
you and say that they had genetic testing performed by 23 and me and that you should
take this information into account when treating them- Now, I realize that genetics is on
all or your radars, but pretend that you did not know a great deal about genetics. Also
the testing that 23 and me has done over the past few years has moved away from
medical risk testing and to more fun testing. But that doesn‘t mean that someone
would not want you to take this into consideration- Also, medical risk testing will come
back at some point in your careers as nurses.
What are the concerns for you as a health care worker?
Do think it is ethical for this company to do this testing?
Do you think that this testing should be legal?
