Imagine yourself as a teacher : – Review an allocated school behaviour policy -orange christian school – Examine how the approaches in the policy relate to recent resrearch regarding the learning of social behaviour and the ways schools and teachers may support this learning? eg – as a teacher perspectives and make some objection to the policy. What do you think it needs to be improve Questions you can consider when reading the policy 1. What’s the ‘problem’ (ie. The problem to be addressed by the policy) represented to be in the policy? 2. What presuppositions or assumptions underpin this representation of the ‘problem’? 3. How has this representation of the ‘problem’ come about? 4. What is left unproblematic in this problem representation? Where are the silences? Can the ‘problem’ be thought about differently? 5. What effects are produced by this representation of the ‘problem’? 6. How/where has this representation of the ‘problem’ been produced, disseminated and defended? How has it been (or could it be) questioned, disrupted and replaced? – Draw upon the unit readings – Prepare a 1 page (references separate) summary of your examination to share with your seminar group ?
