The focus of Essay 2 is the Victorian Armed Offenders Squad Case Study.
With reference to TWO recommendations (pp.33-38 of the report), critically evaluate the extent to which police culture has changed as a result of the report.
Your response must include a MINIMUM of FIVE references. One will be the report. & Only ONE may be from a media article.
You are strongly advised to look for institutional and government responses; as well as the academic literature relevant to the specific issues in the report.
A Tip in Advance! You will NOT find a single report or article that says whether or not this is successful. It doesn’t exist. A lot has been written on this case study, and the changes that were implemented, but they are not neatly packaged somewhere, so it’s a waste time looking for it.
What you need to do is THINK LATERALLY. What would the changes look like in practice? Where and how would information on these changes be recorded/reported? Use this to guide your initial research and it will speed up both your research, and alleviate the frustration of not being able to find “the answer”.
