The article should have the following:
1. Explain the motivation for the paper
2. Review the argument of the paper
3. Identify the main claims of the paper
4. Assess the extent to which the claims are justified
5. Explain whether you identify any weaknesses in the paper
6. Consider what interesting questions follow on from, or are left unanswered by it

• We DO expect your review to have two key elements:
o One is descriptive
o The other is evaluative

• First 3 pointers – descriptive expectations:
o Explain the motivation for the paper
o Review the argument of the paper

o Succinctly/compactly
o Focussing on most important dimensions
o Accurately and in your own words

• The last 3 pointers highlight evaluative expectations:
o Assess the extent to which the claims are justified
o Explain whether you identify any weaknesses in the paper
o Consider what interesting questions follow on from, or are left unanswered by it.
• While it is NOT a requirement that you find fault with the paper you review
• It is important that you consider how a paper can be improved –remember you are now a producer of research
