This assignment consists of two sections. Each section is expected to take around 400 words (essentially 1 page or so). These are two separate exercises – you do not need to link them together, or write introductions/conclusions.
1. Choose an App from the App Store/Play Store (not a game or social media) – do a competitor analysis including 2 direct competitors and 1 indirect competitor. Make sure you define/analyze your focal App first.
2. Go to a shopping mall/supermarket.
a. Find one (1) example of a well-known product/brand that has attempted a product development strategy (include a photo to illustrate). Justify your choice, and explain both the original market and the new market that the brand is attempting to target.
b. Find one (1) example of product/brand that has attempted a market penetration strategy (include a photo to illustrate). Justify your choice, and explain clearly how this strategy will result in market penetration.
