1. The nurse resident will become familiar with the SBAR communication method and utilized this method when discussing improving or change in healthcare delivery with advance healthcare provider, colleagues, and other providers. 2. Foster the development of SBAR communication skills with advance providers, nurses, and other healthcare personnel. 3. Prepare nurses residents with skills, knowledge of resources for improving healthcare and initiating change in healthcare delivery. Learning Objectives: 1. The nurse resident will understand the concept of SBAR communication method and demonstrate effective communication in this format during the interactive learning activities. 2. The nurse resident will describe management rationale, demonstrate care, and evaluate outcomes difference between a non-emergent verses an urgent patient. 3. The nurse resident will demonstrate understanding of prioritization of patient care skills through participation in all educational activities provided. Methodology: for SBAR is a telephone game and for prioritization of multiple patients choosing which patient to see first.
