Paley’s “Natural Theology”

1. Read the assigned reading (Paley’s “Natural Theology”). Determine whether you agree with the author’s thesis, or not. 2. Write as your thesis whether you agree or disagree with the author’s thesis 3. Present an argument as to why you agree with the author’s thesis 3.1. If you agree with the author, then here you can just present the author’s argument
3.2. If you disagree with the author, then here you have to present a) the author’s argument and b) where it goes bad (i.e. specify a false premise, and/or and invalid inference)
4. Present an objection that one could levy against your argument in (3) 4.1. If you agreed with the author in (3), then try to anticipate an objection against the author’s argument 4.2. If you disagreed with the author in (3), then try to anticipate how the author would try to respond to your criticism in (3) 5. Explain why the objection in (4) fails.
