Hypothesis testing allows us to test various different theories. For example, some decisions we try and make using hypothesis testing is which route is quicker to get home from work , route a or route b. There are three types of hypothesis testing : research hypotheses, statistical hypotheses and substantive hypotheses. Research hypotheses is when what we think will happen once an experiment is taken place. The research hypotheses is the closest to what we learned from the scientific method as we were growing up in grade school.
