Levels of Research

• Write in third person (please avoid using “I”, “me”, “we’, etc.) Example: Instead of saying “I would choose”, say something like “A researcher that wants to lower the possibility of Type I error should choose”. • Write clearly — this means that anyone should be able to read your paper and understand what Type I error is, as well as alpha level, and one and two tailed tests. Use your own words to describe these terms and your reasoning for what to use to reduce Type I error. The goal is to communicate to the reader, and the best way to do that is to write as clearly as possible. • Make sure that your paragraphs flow together. This will probably mean that you will need to add a connecting sentence at the end of each paragraph to ensure that your submission reads like a paper, rather than five separate paragraphs that seem disjointed.
