Part 1. You will write a long-form article (1000 words) focusing on your choice for “The Person of the Semester.” Your choice may be any character you’ve encountered in Le Morte Darthur (by Sir Thomas Malory). In this article, you will defend your pick by illustrating how h r she played both a seminal role in the text and furthered (or upended) critical concepts that inform the literature of the periods we have been studying. You will need to pick an individual character for this assignment. Cite parenthetically when referring to moments from the story(ies) in which the character is involved and should rely on the narrative(s) only for information regarding the character.
(example of the style: http://time.comaime-person-of-the-year-2015-angela-merkell ) Part 2. You will compose a 250 word testimonial about your choice of character. This testimonial will be written as if it were composed by a character whom you think knows your choice well (this part is more of a creative writing piece in a way). For e)tample, if you were to choose Beowulf, you might have Hrothgar compose a testimonial about the Geat. As with your long-form article, you should take care to cite when referring to moments from the text.
