In the video ‘5 Tips for Effective Listening,’, Julian Treasure states that “we have lost our understanding for conscious listening.” He also mentioned that we operate and communicate in a state of ‘perpetual noise.’ In chapter one, we talked about the 7 elements of the communication process, one of those being the Situation. In this week’s forum, discuss how the situation, in the larger sense, dictates what we hear and how we listen. Further, describe the type of “noise” that can prevent understanding. This not only relates to face-to-face communication. Further, discuss how the “noise” online, affects how “hear” what is communicated on such Channels as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat and Texting.
