Case Study: Regional Macroeconomic Analysis

Gion, California. The most challenging factor California is faced with is, the increasing rent and unffordable home prices, which has led to high poverty rates and increasing unemployment rates. I believe by studying these macroeconomic indicators, it will highlight the problems areas California is facing such as high taxes, high cost of living and unaffordable homes. On another note, California’s unemployment rates have dropped over the past few years. Beating the nation by 2.5 percent compared to 1.8 percent.

    I will be using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and California Legislative Analyst Office to provide information on poverty rates, housing market, agriculture, urbanization and employment sectors. In addition, the data that I will provide will be based on a 11-year time-frame 2007 through 2018.
