Assignment 2: Outline, Images, and Slides
Congratulations! Last week you worked on developing your content for the speech. Now you will complete a portion of the speaking outline template and your PowerPoint slides for the presentation. This assignment has 4 sections – but don’t stress. We will guide you through them.
Section 1: The Speaking Outline
In this section, you will complete a portion of a speaking outline template using the content developed last week. The sub-points should be phrases from the paragraphs you wrote about the main points last week. You may have more than one sub-point for each main point, if needed. If you do not need extra sub-points, you can leave it blank.

Section 2: Select Your PowerPoint Slides Images
You will need to use PowerPoint to create a presentation.
PowerPoint Guidelines:
● Length is at least 9 slides
● Slides adhere to the design guidelines found in Presentation Zen
Before creating your presentation, read Presentation Zen, “Design,” pp. 109-209, and watch the following videos. This will help you to learn the design principles for creating your presentation.

Now, it is time to pick your slide images. - Locate images to fit your thesis statement, main points, and sub-points. Save your images on your computer. After you develop your attention-getter, preview, transitions, and conclusion in the next lesson, you may need to come back and revise after your image search.

Section 3: Create Your PowerPoint Slides
a. For a tutorial on using PowerPoint, view this video.
b. Open your PowerPoint application on your computer. Save the presentation to your computer using this format:

c. Begin creating your PowerPoint presentation for this speech. Use design principles from our course. Continue to complete all of the slides for which you have images. Add content like bullet points, graphs, pictures, etc.as needed.
d. Save your presentation.
Section 4: Submit this Worksheet and your PowerPoint slides
You will submit the work completed in this worksheet and your PowerPoint slides as saved in your presentation.
