Based on your reading of Peek’s Muslim Self-Identities after 9/11, answer the following questions.

1. Describe the three stages of Muslim religious identity development as outlined in the reading.
2. Peek interviewed her study participants shortly after 9/11/2001. In what ways do you think her findings are relevant today? Might Muslim-Americans still have a unique experience in terms of their religious identity development? Consider current events and explain your answers.
3. Do you have a religious or spiritual identity (if not, this is an identity too)? Think about your own stages of religious identity development outlined by Peek. Can you apply these stages to your own experience? Explain why or why not.
