Step 1: Collect data on the Dow-Jones Industrial Index closing and the S&P 500 (Standard and Poor’s 500) closing for twenty consecutive market days in 2020. You may pick any twenty days, but they must be consecutive (markets are closed on weekends and on national holidays). Record all this in an Excel spreadsheet with your name typed in the upper, left-hand corner followed by a column of twenty dates, a column of the twenty corresponding Dow Jones numbers, and a final column with the S&P numbers. You will want to submit this file along with any Excel work you do. I will have a submission location set up in Blackboard.
Step 2: Using the data, determine the correlation between the two market measures and comment on the results.
Step 3: Determine whether there are any patterns in the data and determine whether the day of the week impacts each index.
