The purpose of the bibliography assignment is to prepare you for the final paper. You will need to gather 6
sources that you will use in your final paper. These should be mostly secondary sources that will help you
support the claims of your final essay. You must choose at least one book, one scholarly journal article,
and one website. You may choose the other three sources, and they may be something outside the box
(documentary, web video, interview, etc). You should not choose any work of fiction, and your sources are
expected to be credible. You will need to write about 100-200 words about each source. Your total essay
needs to be at least 1200 words (approximately 3-5 pages). Begin with the source citation and then add
the summary immediately behind it, not on a separate page. Do not bold, bullet, or number your sources.
Place them in alphabetical order and stick to MLA format.
Write 2 paragraphs for each source. You’ll need to study each source in depth to gather enough
information for a summary and analysis.
1.First paragraph: Summarize the source. Write an objective, complete, and accurate summary of what
the article is about and what its purpose is.
2.Second paragraph: Respond to what you have read. Here you’ll also include information on how the
article is relevant to the essay you’re writing, or provides background or perspective on your subject. You
can also talk about ways the article may be weak or not as useful as you’d like
