References: : Monographs (books by a single author) and journal articles: cite your sources in
parenthesis, with the last name of the author or translator, year of publication and page number
(the year of publication is important because in the course we have readings by the same author,
such as Mallinson). An example, (Jain 2015, 109). Edited books (books with essays by different
authors, like Yoga in Practice… by David G. White): cite the name of the author of the essay, not
the book editor, and the year of publication of the book (Malinar 2012, 70). For primary sources,
like the Bhagavad Gītā and Yogasūtra and the Gheranda Samhita indicate the translator,
abbreviated title, the verse/passage number(s). Examples, (Stoler Miller, YS I.2; Mallinson G.S.
VI.9–11. Add the page number if you have it).
